When using live scoring in a tournament, it's essential to configure the Live Scoring settings within the Scoring tab to ensure a smooth experience for players and tournament directors. These settings control how scores are entered, who can enter them, and additional options that enhance flexibility and accuracy. Below is a breakdown of key settings and how they impact live scoring functionality.
Understanding BlueGolf 360 Live Scoring Settings
All live scoring settings can be accessed within the Scoring tab under the Mobile section. Below is an explanation of each setting and how it impacts live scoring functionality:
Allowed – Check "Allowed" to enable live scoring for the tournament.
Flex Scoring – By selecting "Flex Scorer," golfers within each group can choose which player they want to score.
Flex Scorer Method
- Advanced – This method allows golfers to choose which players remain on each phone (e.g., one player can score multiple players).
- Standard – One golfer in the group keeps score for everyone. The official scorer can be changed during the round.
- Single Team Score – This option is for team events (e.g., Scramble, Alternate Shot) and allows the team to enter a single team score.
Allow Shots Entry – This option allows golfers to enter their stats for each hole, such as GIR (Greens in Regulation) and FIR (Fairways in Regulation).
Always Allow Self – This allows players to enter their official score for themselves during the round.
Test Today – This feature enables the administrator to test live scoring outside of tournament dates.
Off Low Handicap In Group – This setting will dot digital scorecards based on the low handicap within the group, which is ideal for match play.
Allow X-Score Entry – Enables players to enter an "X" (or most likely score) for holes they pick up, providing more flexibility in scoring.
Send Check-In Code – Allows administrators to send a check-in code to players via text message.
Check Out Players – This feature allows administrators to check players out of a round, useful for multi-day tournaments.
Check-in Window – Gives administrators control over the check-in window, allowing them to define whether players can check in on the day of or the day before the tournament.
Check-In Method – Specifies how players can check into their digital scorecards, either by Member Login or Check-in Code.
Check-In All Rounds – Enables administrators to check players in for all rounds of a multi-round tournament or 36-hole same-day event.
These settings provide flexibility and control to tournament organizers, ensuring that live scoring runs smoothly and efficiently.
